Meet Brad Langenberg, CADC
Certified Addiction Counselor | Interventionist | Sober Coach | Equine-Assisted Therapy Specialist

Brad Langenberg is a certified addiction counselor with over 35 years of experience in behavioral health, recovery services, and trauma-informed care. As a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and a member of the Association of Intervention Specialists (AIS), he offers a compassionate, client-centered approach to supporting individuals and families facing substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and major life transitions.
Brad’s career began in adolescent mental health at CPC Westwood Hospital and SeaBridge Adolescent Residential Treatment Center, the first residential rehab of its kind in Malibu. These foundational roles inspired his lifelong dedication to helping youth, adults, and families heal and reconnect through skilled guidance and clinical care.
Since 1997, Brad has worked nationwide as a professional interventionist, providing strategic, trauma-informed interventions based on the Storti Model, Field Model, and Breakfree approaches. His highly personalized work supports families in crisis, including those with high-profile or high-privacy needs, such as executives, public figures, and celebrities.
As a seasoned sober coach and recovery companion, Brad has helped clients transition from treatment programs into everyday life since 2005. He works closely with individuals to build structure, emotional regulation, and long-term success in sobriety.
Brad is also a pioneer in equine-assisted therapy and learning, integrating powerful, non-verbal experiences with horses into recovery and personal development programs.
Over the past 25 years, he has led equine programs for leading treatment centers and recovery facilities, including:
- Clare Foundation
- Beit T’Shuvah
- Breathe Life Healing Center
- Refuge Recovery
- Polaris Teen Center
- Miriam’s House
- Caron Foundation
- Midnight Mission
- Bridges to Recovery
- Avenues of Recovery
- Harmony Hollow Run
From 2017 to 2022, Brad served as Program Director at Harmony Hollow Run Farm in New Jersey, where he oversaw an experiential, farm-based addiction recovery program that combined group therapy, equine work, and community integration.
Brad’s qualifications as an addiction counselor also include certifications in trauma-informed care and equine-assisted therapy, along with a two-year Gestalt training from the Institute for Effective Psychotherapy. He has completed leadership development training through the Arbinger Institute and remains committed to ongoing education in the field of behavioral health.
In addition to his clinical and coaching work, Brad leads equine-assisted team-building and leadership workshops for organizations and universities, including Penn University and executive coaching firms. These programs emphasize self-awareness, mindfulness, and authentic communication.
At the core of Brad’s work is a guiding belief: Recovery is not a solo path; it’s a journey of connection, courage, and clarity.
Whether he’s serving as an addiction counselor, interventionist, or sober coach, Brad walks beside his clients with compassion, insight, and a steady hand.
If you’re ready to start healing or want to help a loved one take the first step, Brad is here to help.
